The event was held within the project "Improvement of strategies, policy and regulation of innovations in Ukraine" supported by the EU.
The round table participants discussed the main issues of innovational development of Ukraine, and legislative support of innovation activity in our state.
Opening the meeting, Committee Chair Natalia Korolevska singled out the pressing problems of the development of innovations system - "high tax rates, relatively small percent of small businesses in the sphere, territorial disproportions in the state development, problems of commercial innovations and red tape, and others."
According to the Committee Chair, Ukraine needs national priorities of innovation policy. "To make the field more effective, we should focus national efforts on the key branches of science and techniques where we can occupy leading positions", the People´s Deputy emphasized.
The experts mentioned the challenges and opportunities of innovation development and legislative structure in Ukraine; variants of the innovation strategy development as the main vehicle of economic development and a tool for increasing competitive ability and profitability of business.
Group of experts involving international and national specialists has analyzed key issues in the sphere of innovations in the EU and Ukraine. Fundamental comparisons between Ukraine and the EU member countries were compiled according to such spheres connected with innovations: models aimed at innovations and stable development; financial support of innovations; stimulation of scientific-research and innovation activity; tax stimulation and service support; culture of innovations; establishment of priorities for innovation and technologies development; state programs in the sphere of research and innovations; state and regional policies for small and medium-size enterprises and others.
The received analytical materials were discussed with consideration for the legislative aspect.
